October 2009- A cheque from the potteries Shopping centre for £1200 allowed us to purchase a new trailer


December 2008 - The Group has been awarded £5000 from the Staffordshire Community Foundation Grassroots Grants. This is to assist in the replacement of the heating system in the building (Stage 1). Without this grant the building would have had to close as the old heating system failed at the end of December 2008.

October 2008 - DHL Excel Supply Chain (Sainsbury Supply Chain Depots) Stoke on Trent for donating raffle items to the Group to support our fund raising efforts.

October 2008 - The Group has secured a grant of £5122.58 for the replacement of our canoes from the Sport Relief Body.

Funded by Sport Relief, an initiative of Comic Relief, registered charity no. 326568.

September 2008 -The Group has secured £800 funding from the Newcastle Borough Council Community Chest!  This funding is being used to update our heating system for the HQ building.

July 2008 - The Group would like to pass its appreciation to DCAL – Craig Tel 07881 655541 the parent of one of our Scouts and builder who has kindly replaced a number of windows and other works at the HQ building.  Our sincerest thanks for your very valuable work to the Group in assisting us maintain the HQ building.

59th Newchapel Scout Group would like to express it’s gratitude and thanks to John Slater and his wife Sandra for their contribution to the success of the Group. John has served the Group over 20 years in one role or an other before stepping down in May 2008. He has been Chairman and looked after the HQ bookings. When ever there has been maintenance issues at the HQ John as always been there to help out.  His efforts and service will be greatly missed and we wish them well for the future! John however, is retaining an interest in the Group and remaining a member of the Executive Committee to assist in fund raising activities.

June 2008 - 2008 Kidsgrove Rotary Group for their donation of £600 to the Group

2008 Community RePaint Scheme operated via SOT City Council for a donation of paint for the H.Q.
